Tuesday March 27th:
I wake to partly cloudy skies and an imperceptible breath of wind, OK, the wind switch musta got flipped to the off position! At least it’s not raining today. But this does look like a shopping day in Porlamar today for me.
I called Tom and checked if I could tag along on his and Kathy’s trip to town, and I got the OK, so I got ready for a grocery run. (Sorry, no photos today. L )
Very fun going to town early, as the sights are so easy to see. I dug the passenger seat ride as we went to a few different malls and various stores in our search for the final week of the vacation supplies gathering. A fun day for me, as I knew the wind was 7’s and 8’s from a call to Bernie at the center.
After a productive trip to town, it was back to El Yaque at 4pm just in time for happy hour! Although I had great intentions of walking down, after I got the groceries unloaded, I found the bed to be a better option after a day of standing and walking about, not to mention the huge feast I had at Sanbil mall!!
I awoke after the nap, and Connie joined me for dinner at the apartment, although I couldn’t eat for a few more hours!! The chicken arepa, two burgers, a chicken sandwich, and ice cream had filled me to the brim today. (I’m a sucker for fast food!!) She discussed the folks out on the big stuff or with big boards and small sails practicing the tricks today, and the various fun of a day at the beach chairs.
I finished some more computer and audio play after using the parts and blank DVD’s I got today, and now finally have a full on stereo in the room for tunes, instead of just the TV speakers. Sounds great, and it is nice to compute by! (Love the iPod!!)
With my emails all answered, the shopping all done, the DVD’s burned, and the posting almost complete, I think I am done for the day. Positive energy for wind tomorrow!!
