Wednesday March 21st:

Connie got up at daybreak for Yoga, while I simply slept in, windows open, listening to the birds chirping away, lazy start to the fun that is the second floor view out the windows of the awesome pad we have this year!  I still can’t believe the home I have here!  So spacious, luxurious, and all thanks to Steve, Tito, and Mary Luz!  Thanks my friends at the El Yaque Club!

I get up for breakfast of fresh pineapple and some café con leche while I computed on the 24” workstation screen.  Connie was so kind to cut up the fruit, and I feel like a king being handed my breakfast as I type this!  Uber thanks to my sweet wife for her energy and care for me!  I love you sweetie!!

The music of the Ipod plays some morning chill mix thru the speakers of the TV as the vista across the bay of El Yaque off to my left is a cool mix of hues of blue, water and sky, with a mix of green flittering palms thrown in to mix it up.  Nice clear sky today and only a scant few puffy clouds hanging in the distant sky.  Maybe it’s time for a hammock ride on the patio, for a wider view!  I think I’ll take my coffee out there for a better look for a few moments.  Sweeeeeet

The early morning was complete, and it was time to motivate, so I burned the CD for the Vela TV photo slide show, and snagged the beach bag for a stroll down the 500 or so feet to the ‘office’ for some morning banter, and maybe some morning photos for a change.  I so rarely get down there before 11, I always like to see the light of the morning on everything, much different than the noon sun angle here at 10 degrees 53 minutes, 52.49 Seconds North of the equator.

The wind was starting light today, great for the beginners as they get a chance to practice before it comes up in the afternoon, and I got out for some beach scene shots before the water stuff.  The wind picked up on schedule, and soon folks were out on 4’s and 5’s again, so it was photo session time!  A short period later, the cam was full and it was time to get back to shore for some of my own ride.  See windsurf photos here.  I also got a few nice videos, see them below:

I joined Connie who was already on the 78 lt and the 5.0M sail, as she was coming in to get something smaller!  I took a run with my usual 5.7M and the 93lt, but the wind was too much for this, and I had to get an 85lt!  Love the small stuff!!  It blew like stink and I was totally powered the whole session on this kit!  Not as big on the air today, and the speed was lacking, since I couldn’t catch the Steve of speed at all today!  (I bow in acknowledgement!)  The session was again stellar, and tired and sore, I returned to Vela.

After some chat and a drink of water, I was feeling like some Footbag, so the guys and I kicked the sack about for an hour or so.  This works nice to loosen the joints up, and stretch the sore legs, and even brings a bit of sweat to the brow, some aerobic exercise for a change.  Fun stuff.

The happy hour was in full swing, and I joined a table of friends for some chips (Salt replacement.) and beer.  Another fun happy hour of discussion and relaxation, a great way to end the sailing day!

I was beat from the day’s fun, and ended up simply going home and to bed, instead of supper.  So nice to just sleep.  Recharge and do it again tomorrow!

Hasta Mañana,
