Wednesday March 14th:

Morning in El Yaque, light sea breeze, birds chirping, the palms swaying, such a sweet existence!  Connie and I get up, and I decide to make breakfast of scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, cheese, and onion.  Very tasty with the toast and coffee Connie makes!  Nice slow start to the day.

After the feast, it’s some postings and computer play for work, before I join Connie already down to the beach.  Work is going well, and things are smoother than at the beginning, so this makes for much less worries, and more like vacation.

The beach scene is lively and people are already out sailing at noon.  Plenty of new folks arrived today, Lorenzo’s friends Andy and his GF, Karl and Amy, and a bunch more!  So interesting to see so many recurring visitors from years past!  Feels like they never left, except for the tan-less bodies!

The GPS trials were still on, and people were out trying for the fastest speed awards.  There are plenty of competitive surfers here, and the speed list is growing daily of women, men and kids!  Always fun to push each other a bit, to squeak out a bit more speed from the body and equipment!  Might have to try this sometime in the next couple days, see if I can still go fast!

I just had to get out and capture some of the action out on the water, plenty of subjects, and the shooting was easy.  Great fun when the local boyz get out to ham it up!!  See the windsurf photos here.  I even had to switch to video mode for awhile, and got some amazing vids of Alex, Douglas, and others doing their thing.  See the videos below:  (size is listed below link frames, so you know approximately how long you’ll have to wait for the download.)

The photos and video session came to an end when the card filled, and it was time to ride.  I got out with the biggest stuff I could handle, just in case I wanted to do a GPS run, but ended up just sailing, as it was so darn fun!!  Played chase with a few folks, and then Lenny and I finished out the afternoon rippin on the outside, and back.  So nice to have a fast buddy to sail with, (YOU RIP DUDE!) no worries out on the deep sea knowing somebody has your back!  There was plenty of speed, jumps, and general fun all afternoon!

The body was beat, and the wind was tapering off at 5pm, so it was back to the shack for me.  A quick shower later, and it was on to happy hour for a cold beer.

We had a fun table of folks with Connie, Nancy, Nora and me, chatting away, and sharing the fun life of Margi!  We were soon joined by David, Chris, and Mark for some more conversation as the time drifted by, happily socializing the evening away.  But it was almost 8, and we still had to eat!

It was off to the apartment for dinner of hotdogs w/chill!  My favorite!  We shared a candle-lit table together as we feasted, and then some computer work/play before bed.  Another brilliant day in paradise comes to a close,  wish you were here!

Hasta Mañana,
