Friday March 9th:

The morning brings new energy and I rise for another day of fun in the Margi sun!  Feeling good today, after a great afternoon session yesterday, along with a good meal and some sound sleep.  And after all, it’s FRIDAY!  Work is done for the week, (I hope!) and I can get on to Vacation again!!

I did the usual morning ritual, and did some computer stuff to start, then some breakfast as I look out the patio doors to the sea and a few kites wafting up and down over the water.  A bit hazy today, so this should foretell the winds in the 4’s and 5’s again today!!  Saaweet!  I could dig some more of what yesterday gave me!  I’m putting in my order for 1:30 thru close please!!

I ventured down to the café and on thru town to see what is happening.  I stopped to visit Nora and ate the rest of my breakfast fresh melon and some bananas, sharing with Nora and chatting away.  It’s so great to be with so many friends, and smiling faces!

I cruised to the center, and greeted all with the usual handshakes and jokes!  Like my family away from home, I love youse guys and gals!  The afternoon was escaping fast, so I hit the water for some amazing action shots!!!  Plenty of hams on the water today, and the camera filled in less than an hour!  Nice stuff!  See photos here.

The photos psyched me up for a session with the 5.7M and the 93lt JP, and I was on the water in no time.  The wind was nice and filled in for the afternoon session, and I made the most of it!  I chased the Steve of Speed for a few laps with Jim, then Rodger, Doug, and Lynn soon thereafter.  What a blast to race around with friends, especially those that witness the jumps and shout approval!  Muchisimas Grasias chamos!

The amazing session was a total blast, and I loved every minute, right until the 5 o’clock whistle, and I even stretched it a bit more for a final run or two!  “Just one more run, yeah..”  was the familiar chant, but it seems is seldom heeded!

After a great sailing session, the shower and happy hour were a warm welcome to sit back and reminisce about the day!  Such a great life here in the little town of El Yaque!!  Just loving life!!

We shared some beers, and then moved on to dinner.  Tonight was the all Spanish dinner with Mary Luz!  We had assembled the Spanish students, and gathered at a table on the Terraza of the beach hotel, for an evening of total immersion into the language!  Very fun talking and understanding each other en Español. Gerry’s kitchen was again a delight, and we each ate to contentment.  Another great meal!

The party tonight was at Los Piratas, and the theme was Black & White.  Guests were to wear only black or white clothes, and meet there just before midnight!  I tried to talk some of the folks from dinner to join me, but was turned down, only to have Mary Luz shout out to Belkis; “Do you wanna go to Los Piratas with Timo?”, and as she was very well dressed in black and white, the answer was of course YES!

I spent the next few minutes chatting again en Español with Belkis, (The really cute local masseuse, for those that don’t know.)  And we had a fun lively conversation as we made plans for some dancing later tonight.  But for the moment, I had to check some email back at the condo, and stopped in for a coffee to help wake up for what promised to be a fun evening of dance at the local new chill-out!

I got to Los piratas just before midnight, and danced away!  Some fun folks there, and the place was full of locals and tourists enjoying the music!  I had a great time, and really enjoyed the dancing on the beach! About 2am, Wicho and I went to Porlamar to visit Cami Beach.  A very fun evening of chicas and beer, and then back to El Yaque to close los piratas!  WOW, up till 5 am!!  Gonna be tired on Saturday!

Off to bed, Ciao!

Hasta Mañana,

Timoteo
