Thursday March 8th

The start of the day is again beautiful, with the typical sounds of the waking El Yaque.  I am a bit tired from the past night of entertainment, and moved rather slowly getting breakfast, and on to the center for a visit.  I met Nora again, and had some fun conversation on the corner as we watched the folks come down to the center.

I did some more shopping, and then on to the Vela center for a visit.  After a few minutes, it was off to finish some work, and postings back at the condo.  Work was a bit of a bear today, and it was again almost three when I finally finished and got back to the center.  I did not feel up to a photo session, as I was jonesin for a ride after a stressful day at work, and Kathy stepped in and took some beach scene shots in my place. See photos here.

I took a 5.0M sail and the 85 lt board for some frequent flyer airtime rides!  I was still tired from all the fun last night, but after a couple runs, the brain cleared, and the rides were sweet!  The usual games of chase were played, and I was so stoked to score a HUGE mast high jump with fellow sailor Joe behind me to witness same!!  Gotta love the air, when someone else can attest to the height!!  And the landing was pillow soft!!  Too Cool!!

We played off the waves for a couple hours, and then made way to the beach for showers and happy hour.  The crowd at the tables was a good size, and we discussed the day and it’s rides between ourselves, laughing and joking the late afternoon away.  We made the dinner plans, and were soon on the way to Gaby’s for some BBQ.

The feast was slow to arrive, but we made the time fly by with stories and chat.  Once we had the food, we devoured it down, and came away very happy campers!

We all walked home, and visited on the way, as we made plans for the next day of fun!

Hasta Mañana,
