Monday March 5th
The new day brings some more of the same birds and breeze to wake up to, the sea air wafts into the bedroom and I wake to paradise! Breakfast is quick with a short trip to my kitchen for some watermelon, cantaloupe, banana, and some toast. The palms out front look to be doing the ‘Wind Today’ dance, and are swinging and swaying to the beat of the breeze blowing thru their fronds, looks like another sailing day!
I burned the CD of the past days pictures, and after some email, I get down to the center to put the CD in the player for all to enjoy. It’s the same photos that are posted to the site, but on the TV slide show so folks can get an idea of the photos that have been taken and posted. Some nice comments and discussion of same, before I made it back to the condo to finish the postings.
It didn’t take long, and the wind was really starting to blow! Looks like it’s time to stop computer play, and start some photography play!! I could see clearly from my balcony that the folks were all planning, and just ripping back and forth! Time to get to the sands!!
With camera in hand I waded out for another thrill of snapping some of the action on the water. The sailors were kind and performed for the cameraman, making the task short and sweet! I got about 600 shots in less than an hour, some good stuff! See windsurf photos here.
The photos were fun, but it psyched me up for the ride! Fredrico had just come in with a 5.9M with the 93lt board, and offered his kit for me to use. Too cool! I took his offer, and made my way out with it.
Amazing wind with some high tide wave action, blessed those of us lucky enough to be here for the ride! The ramps on the outside were stellar, and I got to play chase with a few friends Joe and Fredrico out on the big blue! We had plenty of hollerin back and forth as we jumped and jibed our way across the water. It was just a fantastic afternoon, as I was dialed in to the equipment, and never had a lull or gust that was too big to handle. The rig was nearly perfectly adjusted as given from Fredrick, and I only had to tighten the foot-straps and tweak the harness lines ever so slightly to make it perfect. Love to be handed just the right stuff!
The afternoon soon disappeared into the evening, and I returned the kit at ten after five, a full afternoon session of fun! One of my longest sessions to date! So much fun sailing with so many friends! There were plenty of smiling faces all around!
We got a table of folks together for happy hour, and shared the day’s adventures over beer, Coco-Locos, Kapirinas, and Banana-Mama’s. Always love the decompression of the day, sharing the tales of fun, and the enjoyment we all feel being here! Another great end to the sailing day.
The group decided on Mobu and Pizza for dinner, so it was off to Mobu to get there early, and just in time to make a reservation for seven. I then ran home to shower, and got back in time to be seated before the rest of the crowd arrived. We had to wait some for the food and such, as we got in after seven, but they honored my reservation, and we were soon drinking beer, eating pizza, and stuffing ourselves! Another great meal at Mobu! All seemed to be impressed with the food, and we ate till our tummies were bursting!!
Full, content, and tired, we each made the way home for sleep, and dreams of more fun on Tuesday. See ya!
Hasta Martes,
Timoteo
