Friday April 7th
The Morning of the last day! I can’t believe it’s been 39 sailing days already! And I even have to see the date’s everyday as I post!
We get up for the last breakfast this trip, and are warmly greeted by some empanadas made by our favorite staff woman, Luisa! Such a tasty treat, and it reminds me of the great care all the employees at Casa Rita used to give us in years past. Most of the long term employees are all now gone, and the new owners don’t treat us the same as Rita and Joseph did. Still the last few great staff, Oscar, Luisa, Zuelmelle and others takes care of us the best they can, and we will really miss them all!
We started the packing and got the minds wrapped around the fact of the last day of Margarita life for a year, and made ready for the beach. I stopped at the Wind Guru for posting, and such, while Connie proceeded to the beach. I chatted with Tito and Mary Luz, and then finished the email and headed down to the Vela office for my last day of ‘work’.
The wind was light in honor of our departure, and I didn’t see enough traffic on the water to get out the camera for the final day of photos. Instead I burned the final CD’s and finished up the final office work for the trip, before doing some hacky sack, and joining others for happy hour. Folks were on the 5’s and 6’s, and a couple 7’s for the day, so I didn’t miss too much, and the down day allowed the wet stuff to get dry before the final packing. Connie did manage a few sessions, and did get some planning rides.
The plans
were for a final meal in Pampatar, at
The feast done, it was off to El Yaque for the final packing and to make ready for departure early the next morning. Another awesome vacation!! Glad you all had fun, I know I did! See ya again next year!!
Ciao!
Timo y Connie.
