Thursday April 6th

It’s another great day in Margi!  The breeze this morning looks good for the afternoon!  I got up early to join Al and team ‘No wind, No Cry’, for a 2 hour bike trip around the local desert and beach!  What a great ride thru the Yaque and cactus, on some nice hard pack!  The views were awesome, and the morning breeze makes for a very pleasant ride!   I managed some snaps as well, Nora at the start before we left, and then a few throughout the trip, See them here.

The ride complete, I returned tired and hungry, and feasted on breakfast, after a quick shower.  The eggs were back today, now a rare occurrence and I loaded up for the day.  Nice to share the table with friends and chat about all the fun we are having!

Connie and I headed down to the beach and the Wind Guru respectively, as I posted and she rode the beach chair and chatted with friends.  The posting done, I moved to the Vela office for some CD burning and a few photo prints, before suiting up for another photo session in the shallows of El Yaque.

The number of clients has been about half, and the same for the other centers, so the water was sparsely populated with just a few sailors here and there.  The wind was pretty decent, and folks were out on 5’s and some 6’s, plenty to capture the fun of the many rides past the cam.  See the photos here.

The photos done, I got a 102lt and the 6.4M for some helmet cam!  The videos were ok, but not really worth posting, and before I could get the rig tuned up, the battery died, and I had to return the equipment to shore.  Might try again Friday, but being it’s the last sailing day, I doubt it.

Since I post in the morning, I won’t be able to post the Friday photos until I get home on Sunday.  But I do plan to post more of the videos I have taken, once back on the high-speed connection at home, so look for a video page coming soon!

The ride at the end was overpowered and I just couldn’t come back in for a smaller kit!  I again rode ‘till closing before heading to the shower and to make ready for the happy hour!  Another great table of fun sailors to share the day’s fun, and then off to get ready for the party at Alex’s place!

Alex has been building a house between El Yaque and Porlamar, and he invited a group of friends over for food and drink!  We were some of the lucky folks to join in the fun!  I spaced out bringing the camera, so no photos, but it was a blast!  Great BBQ, and awesome tunes, with plenty of beer and great friends to chat with!  Great party Alex!  Nice home too!

We rode home, and went straight to bed, dreams of surf fun for tomorrow, the last day, Friday!

Ciao!

Timo y Connie.
