Wednesday March 22nd

The day begins with a nice breeze in the morning as the sun lights the desert, another good sign of wind for today!

Once again breakfast with friends is the best start to the day of fun.  We share the breakfast tables, and feast on the plentiful spread of fruit, ham, cheese, and hard boiled eggs.

Seeing the building morning wind, prompts me to get down to the beach office as soon as possible, and I headed down after some work at Casa Rita.  The sails were already out in the 5’s and 6’s before noon, so it looked really good for action today!  I waded out to the shallows, and setup for some snap action.  Some plentiful traffic around me, and the memory was filled in about an hour.  Some fun shots, and even a couple tricks here and there. (See the photos here.)

The photo session was done, and I got back to shore for equipment of my own to ride!  The wind had built nicely all afternoon, and I hit the timing perfectly for my afternoon session!  I got to sail a 5.9M and the 93lt for the entire 1.5hr jump fest!  What a great session sailing with friends, and racing about the bay!  Love to jump, and managed much airtime!  SWEET!

Tired and thirsty, I finished it up by 5:15, and cleaned up for happy hour!  We again had a full contingent of satisfied sailors to share the day’s fun and a few drinks with!  We succeeded in making it the ‘hora de feliz’!

We then made plans for Mobu and the Hotel California for supper, and the crowd split up to get cleaned up.  I was lucky enough to share a table at Mobu with my many friends, David, Jackie, Marylyn, Mark, Nicole, and Michael.  We had a great feast of tropico Latina pizzas, some hot and spicy pasta arribiata, and carbonara!  What tasty food for hungry folks, and we spent at least an hour talking and sharing the past days stories!  Great supper!

The crowd dispersed, but Mark, Nicole and I decided to attend the live band at Los Piriatas for the reggae fest!  The cover charge was a surprise, but it did include the first round of drinks, so we got in and grabbed a couple beers and Cuba Libre, as we ambled about, waiting for the next jam session.  It was just getting started as we showed up at 11:30, and once the band started, it was standing room only!

The complete mix of folks that were in attendance was such an awesome sight!  I just love the total variety of people you can see and chat with in a couple hours!  We even managed to get in some dancing in the reggae mosh pit that was the dance floor!  I danced with a few local gals, and we all had a great night, working up a dance sweat!

The clock read 2am, and we were finally tired and ready for bed, so we strolled home to make ready for another day of fun on Thursday.

Hasta pronto!
