Saturday March 18th
Another day in the paradise of El Yaque! The sky is clear and the sun is bright as I make way for breakfast.
The fun sailors and non-sailors mingle at breakfast, and the feast is all that’s needed to start another day of sailing and beach fun! I ate to my hearts content and shared more stories and chat with my fellow surf-friends!
After the usual stop at the Wind Guru for internet, coffee, and a sub-sandwich, I moved on to the Vela office for some postcard printouts and some CD burning for the slide show on the Vela TV. Very pleasant work environment! Thanks again Tom and Kathy!
The wind was blowing about 5’s to 6’s, and I got on the wetsuit for some more photo fun. The willing participants did their best in front of the camera-man, and I managed some 80-something really decent shots! (See the photos here.) Another successful time on the water.
I harnessed up and got out on a 6.4M and a 111lt that was perfect for the conditions! I styled a couple small jumps and scored some fun jibes too! Only about an hour or so, but very satisfying! Fun to hoot and holler, and chase the fellow friends about the ocean!
The happy hour was again without equal! We soon had several new folks joining us as the sun went down, having a blast chatting and sipping our libations under the palms and on the beach, watching a few kiters jumping out on the water for the crowd! Can’t help but have a good time in such an environment!
The party agreed to meet for supper
at 7:39, in front of the beach hotel, we got a group of about ten of us, and
gathered at DaRocco’s for pizza, as Mobu was full. The
food was great, and we reloaded the wind-surf machines with plenty of carbs and protein!
Very tasty meal again! We even
finished a bottle of the apertivo at the end of the
meal between us! A mix of rum, sambuca,
and a mystery ingredient from
Caio!
