Thursday March 16th

The morning breeze brought the familiar birds lazily soaring overhead, predicting some decent wind for the day!  It’s time to get started!

The recent changes back to the way the original Casa Rita was run, are working well, the breakfast is back, and full of all the original favors we have come to expect.  Also some recent staff changes make things feel like it was in years past!  My home away from home is back on it’s feet!

After a great breakfast, and some social banter, it was time to get down to the beach for some more fun!  I passed thru the Wind Guru café, and did a bit of internet posting and email, before grabbing a sandwich to go, and off to the Vela office.

I worked a bit and ate lunch, (did I mention how tasty the subs are from the Wind Guru! OK, how many times? J)  The full belly, made me heavier to better stay still while snapping some of the windsurf fun to be had for the early afternoon session (See the photos here.)  Some 100 plus shots, and pretty decent ones too!

Video day today, and Tom was back on shore caputing the Vela folks, jibing for the cam!  I came in to do some of my own showing off, only to find the wind on the inside to be light, and the outside to be very fine!  I took off with a 5.7M and a 93Lt, some super small stuff for a 220lb barge of a sailor. The wind ripped, good enough for some jumpin attempts, but I was a bit sore and tired from the long session yesterday, so I was not on the top of form.  I had a great short 1hr session, and knew better than to hammer the body any farther, plus it was time to get ready for the Video show at 5:30.

I had some fun snapping the video show with the cam, and enjoyed the usual fun banter Tom creates with the folks and the instructive tips for improvement, or the wise cracks for those so good not to need advice!  Always a fun happy hour to spend watching your own jibe style for all to see!  Even a raffle for some fun gifts for a lucky few!

After the happy hour, we made plans for the terrace restaurant for supper at 7:28.  We met up and shared a table for eight as we feasted on some awesome chicken, fish, Thai, Steak and fries!  Another great meal, and Romero even kept us happy with a round of beers on the house as we waited!  Thanks Dude!

We were joined by Lorenzo’s friend, Andy, and the fun machine went into overdrive!  We soon had just the three of us, as we said our goodbyes and goodnights.  All that was left was Andy, Lorenzo, and I to take the shots on the house!  We had the sambuca, and rum, and soon followed with a welcome to margi round of tequila shots for Andraous!  He and I went on to check out the fun at Gabby’s before heading home to bed.  Another wonderful day in paradise!

Hasta Mannana!
