Sunday April 10

Super start to the day.  So relaxing in the hammock each morning!  Just love to wake up with no stress, nothing to worry about, except maybe what to sail today!  Breakfast by Del Valle was super, as we feasted on omelets and empanadas!  Such rich foods to start each day, if it wasn’t for the sailing, I’d be 20 lbs heavier by now!

After some relaxing after breakfast in the hammock, it was time to get down to the center.  We made our way down separately, as I am slow to get ready.  I joined Connie at the beach, and we selected a spot on the sand for our own.  I joined Tom and Kathy in the office for some chat and laptop play, followed by the usual fun of an afternoon photo session.

A full crowd of sailors presented themselves for capture, and I did my best to record as much action as possible!  The wind was a bit lighter than the past weeks, and this allowed some of the beginner/intermediates to come out for play.  Hard to believe it has been too windy for some of them so far!  I captured plenty of nice shots into the memory.  See photo gallery here.

Connie went out in the afternoon on a 77lt/5.0M combo for a few hours.  She was dialed in and sailing fast, having a great time out in the swells on the outside.  Later in the afternoon she sailed a 69lt/4.7M-lots of fun!

I was soon ready to join in the fun after the photo session, and selected the 91lt/5.7M combo for my session.  This was ok, but I had grabbed the wrong board, and had a tough time with the slalom foot-strap positions.  I quickly came back in to switch, and realized I had taken another person’s board from the beach by mistake!  I apologized and swapped back to the correct one.  This was much better, but I still had too much board and sail at this point, and should have come back for an 84lt/5.2M, but was too lazy, and rode the stuff I had till almost 5.  Still very fun stuff!  Plenty of jumps and jibes!

After some chat at the Vela desk, I joined the happy hour crowd on the beach chairs, and we again spent the time till dusk, chatting and drinking.  Always a great time for the après surf session!  We then made plans for Atti for dinner, and headed off to get ready.

The food was good, the friends were awesome, and the night was filled with talk and some after dinner drinks!  We closed the restaurant, and finally returned home to bed!  Another great day!
