Thursday April 7

Clear blue skies, swishing palms, lazy birds drifting across the sky, sweet songs of the birds in the garden, as I sway back and forth in my hammock.  Ahhh!  Such a lovely start to the day’s fun!  Hard to beat it!

Breakfast was again a feast of plenty, and with some friends to sit and chat with, that much better!  The girls here really take care of Connie and I, always a smile and some talk each morning we meet.  Feel like I am at home.

After some computer play at the room, I head to the beach to join Connie, already in progress.  She was out on a 5.2 meter sail and the 84 liter JP board, having a great time!  I soon joined in for some pictures, and had plenty of folks to perform in front of me again.  Very fun sharing the stokeSee photo gallery here.

It was blowing even harder now, and I made ready to ride the wind!  I selected a 5.2M sail and the 98lt board, and headed out.  It was very filled in today, and I managed a full 3 hour session, constantly jumping and jibing the afternoon away!  Managed some chase rides with Michael and we ripped it up for an hour or more together!  I kept going as the arm and shoulder were pain free the entire time!  So much more fun when nothing hurts!  I did managed some major calf muscle burn during some of the intense speed rides back into shore, but so fun to be chased!

Also had some nice jumps off the very nice swell faces, the tide was in, and this made for some well built ramps!  One very steep one allowed me a huge air, and Michael said he could have easily sailed underneath me while I was airborne!  Love the big air, with the smooth landings!  So much fun!

I stayed out so long, and lost track of time!  I came in to say goodbye to my amigo Lorenzo, but was too late as he had just left for the airport!  Sorry I missed ya buddy!  Been great sailing together again this year!  Let’s do it again next year!!!  Hope the flight home was decent.  Have fun in the Gorge!

We gathered our clan together for another happy hour, this time at Casa Viva, just down the beach, (formerly know as Sharks.)  Here we had some Kaparina’s and the usual supply of salt replacement foods, chips and such.  Very good drinks and another good time with friends!  We then made dinner plans for a night at Mobu for pizza and pasta.

The feast was so good, we stuffed ourselves to overfull!  Such tasty pasta and pizza, and we ate every bite!  We had to take a walk down to Gabby’s to help digest it all!  Once there, we were too full to drink anything, and just managed some chat and listened to some music, before departing for our beds.  A pleasant stroll back to Casa Rita, and off to sleep.  More later..
