Sunday April 3
Again the soft start to the day.. a hammock ride, followed by supreme breakfast! Every day it’s like I am having someone else’s fun! The sweet environment is perfect for relaxing with the coffee and friends at the terrace.
The birds are saying a 5.0 or less for the day, and we head down to the center for a day of beach fun. It is already blowing hard, and I got out for some more photos! Folks were on 5.2 to 4.2M at that point, and there was plenty to see, and so many tricks! See them here.
It was my turn! I took a 5.2M and a 98lt to start, but was completely blown off the water! I came in and took a breather, and traded my sail and board for a 4.7M and the little 84Lt JP! It was frickin nukin! So much power to work with, and we used it to our full enjoyment! Connie had started with the 84 lt and a 5.0M followed by a 77lt and the 4.2M, then a 3.7M with the same board! Wow! What a great session.
I managed to catch Wicho and Eric at the tail end of the afternoon, and we again sailed in windsurf pod format! That is so darn fun it is amazing! Harsh on the body, as it is such a competition, but so worth the extension into some super stellar jumps! And we all had witnesses! Such a blast sharing the ride with others!
Soon it was close to closing, and I made my way into the beach and the center. As I was carrying my sail in, Lorenzo walked up and popped a cold can of beer beside me, and asked; “you have a spare hand there, right?” as he handed me the après sail refreshment! How cool is that! Grasias mi amigo, Lorenzo!
That was the start of another great happy hour! We again enjoyed the beach chairs and sand as we relaxed and talked, sipping the kapirina’s and polar beer! So much fun to have a crowd of friends together, sharing the day’s fun!
Connie and I had made plans for dinner with Wicho and Roxy, at the local chicken place down the road! Some local flavor for a change! Wicho drove us there in his sweet newer car! Very fun night out! Plenty of delicious Chicken for all, with Yucca and Arapa dumplings. So cool to be in the local scene, sharing the terrace with the local folks! Even a swing set nearby, watching the kids play on the swings, listening to some music, as we feasted on beer and dinner.
After a full meal, it was off to El Yaque, and the bed! A great day done! More tomorrow!
