Sunday March 27

I had another slow start to the day, relaxing in the hammock.  Just soaking in the environment, and going thru the events of the past days, in my mind.  Some amazing stuff the last couple days of Santa Semanna!

I ventured out for breakfast, and was greeted with the same personal attention as always, and Clarina made me a very nice omelet!  I am so spoiled!  I cleaned my plates, and relaxed with coffee, looking across the sea to Coche and the mainland.  Lookin clear today, it might not blow as hard.

Down at the beach, the final day of the celebration was bringing to a close a week long party here!  More and more of the beach was returning to just us windsurf/kiters!  The party was fun, but I am glad to have the beach to ourselves again!

The local Venezuelan super-model Deisy Arvelo was on the beach, handing out some Polar Beer Calendars!  She was giving them out to the folks around Vela, for all the fun windsurfing she gets to do here!  She’s a good sailor, and I have the photos to prove it!  She signed a calendar for me, and made me promise to take some more surf shots of her!  Such a tough life to have to take pictures of a super-model windsurfing!  Well, someone has to do it!

The wind was light, and the sailors were frustrated a bit, schlogging about, but once the proper sail sizes were applied, the folks did get some planning done, and I was there to capture some of the fun!  Some great shots, of the fun folks were still having all afternoon!  See them here.

I thought about a 6.4M or bigger, but opted to socialize instead, and joined my Italian friends Stephano and Raffaele at the beach bar for some beer and ‘chips’.  Interesting appetizer, grilled hotdog bits on top of fries!  Tasty!  Good combo with Polar beer!  We were joined by Lorenzo, and then Alex of Vela for some more discussion and toasts, making plans for the night.

We figured tonight we would finally eat at Mobu for pizza!  We gathered some eight folks together for a fun evening of laptop surf photo slide show, as we waited for the pizza to arrive.  Some good fun laughing and chatting over the photos and drinks!  Once the pizza’s arrived, it was almost silent as we each dug into our ‘Tropico Latina’ pizzas!  Good stuff, especially with the halbenero hot sauce!  We each had our fill, and moved on to DaRoccos for Ice Cream.

Again we shared a table till close, and chatted and shared many a surf story.  Soon the owner, Erenesto came out and offered to make us a small chocolate mousse before he closed.  We stayed a bit longer and were treated to some warm chocolate pudding that was so very heavenly!  We each had a spoon and shared the small cup, enjoying each spoonful!  Perfect dessert!

Tired out from the day, and being a Sunday night, we all split up and returned to our rooms for some needed sleep.  More fun manana!
