Saturday March 26

Good Morning El Yaque!  Wake up and smell the coffee!  The breakfast is ready, and I make it out early, 8:30am!  Actually interfaced with other humans for breakfast!  Eggs today, and even some of the local biz owners have come up to the awesome Casa Rita for breakfast!  Plenty of delicious selections and we all fueled for a day of wind again!  Good socialization and ambience!

It was a bit light to start the morning, so I remained in the room, utilizing the terrace and hammock for some web page play.  Like a kid with new toys!  Some cool software, and could have played for hours!  But I have responsibilities to take care of!  So I finished up, and made for the center.

The wind was picking up, as usual, and it was 5M stuff when I got there!  This will be good for some easy photo shoot action!  So I made plans for a snap session, and even made a sign to let others know to ‘Smile, you’re on Surf Camera!’  Might have to make it a regularly scheduled program!  So much fun to share the stoke out there, as others cruise by!  My voice is getting hoarse from all the hootin and hollerin!  The anti-fog procedure is working awesome and got a batch of nice pictures, see them here.

As I was snapping away, I did notice the hat-wind-o-meter was signaling it was time to ride some of this!  I grabbed a 91 lt JP and the 5.0M sail, some of the small stuff!!  (Remember, I am some 220lbs/100Kg and 6’1”/267cm tall, so I sail about a meter larger sail than ‘normal’ sized sailors!)  Most were on 4.2M and sub 80lt stuff!!  It was RIPPIN out there!

What a whole new world of sailing with the short little boards!  I was slashing and turning on every bit of moving mogul field the ocean had to offer!  The ramps were frequent, and the swell rides were also!  I was just having too much fun in heaven for the entire afternoon!  My arms were screaming at each pause to rest, but once back up on a plane, I would forget the pain, and sail on and on!  I did some final speed runs, chasing and being chased by Lorenzo.  Such an extra rush to have someone chasing you!  I could not quite catch him on the way out, but for one of my final rides in, I did manage to blow doors on him, and then just go into some kind of super nuclear Neanderthal mind set, and just go totally carbon body on the ride, and hit some intense high speed!   MAN! I am sure glad I didn’t wipe there!  Would have been a huge yard sale!  Such a total mind body experience to have!

I finally gave it up, and came in to call it a day.  What a ‘Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride’ that was!  My ‘jump’ arm was screaming for relief, and I had to sit down and nurse it back to full function with some self-massage, and a couple Polar Beer muscle relaxants!  I joined in with a few fellow riders, and Lorenzo mentioned to me in his French-Canadian imitation voice; ‘You sail fast out der!’  I laughed and replied with ‘thanks, had to, you were chasing me!’  We all had such a blast sharing the day’s fun over drinks and plenty of Santa Semana people watching!   We all agreed, we have never seen so many perfect bodies and cheek in a given location ever before in the total sum of all our experiences!  Some kind of experience!  I highly recommend it!

The decision was made to try Mobu again, and if they were closed, we would head over to the Habana club for the BBQ buffet, and some pool.   We ended up at the Habana Club, and had some awesome pool, drinks, and food for the evening, what a great time with friends!  So cheap to feast and party the entire evening for 30,000b’s (about $12.50 USD!)  We had our fill of all, and finally lost the table, so we moseyed home to bed.  Tired from an excellent day of sailing, and night of fun!

Hasta Luego.
