Wednesday March 16th
Another
late night, but feel pretty good this morning!
Musta been all that dancing! Burned all the tequila off! Got up to some excellent eggs and ham for
breakfast, and was about to sit down, when Del Valle, one of the staff girls
here at Casa Rita, came over to hug and greet me for the first time this
season! We chatted a bit in Spanish, and
she offered me some fresh empanadas she was just making in the kitchen! These are some very tasty corn creations,
stuffed with ham or cheese, or both, fried crispy on the outside, about the
size of a pot-pie in the
After the feast for breakfast, I got ready for a day at the beach, TODAY I RIDE! So it was time to head down to the center to get setup on the beach, and in the office, for some computer play to start the morning off. Thanks again to Tom and Kathy for letting me invade their office space!! Too kind of you two! So nice to be able to hear from the sail call-outs of each client, how the wind is progressing throughout the day! And with the reflection off the framed poster on the office wall, you can see the beach! Love the working environment!
Kathy and I worked on their new laptop setup, and then moved on to each our own tasks. I was doing some of this web creation stuff, and loading up some of the images, while she did office work. By the afternoon, I was done, and ready to get out on the water!
I took the camera out for a session of snaps first, and got some nice ones! Photo Gallery here.
I also like to measure the wind while I am out taking photos. If my hat starts to blow off, it’s time to go get a rig! It was a 5.5 to 6.5 day most of the afternoon, and I had a ton of willing subjects to help me fill the memory card in no time flat! Great fun hootin and hollering, sharing the stoke thru the lens!
I waded back to shore, and selected a 105 lt board, and a 6.4M sail for my ride! Got out for an awesome first session! Was jumping and jibing in no time again! Like riding a bike! Was a bit worried, haven’t been sailing for 6-7 months! Felt awesome! No problems with the healing cracked rib from a couple months back at all! I did keep the session short, only about an hour and a half, but so satisfying! What a great day!
After the
sail session, David, a fellow frequent visitor, and I made plans to go to Mobu pizza! We met
up at the place, and joined
See ya then.
