Rain overnight, but clear at breakfast.  The wind came up about 9am, and made promises for a 100 lt or less ride for me today!  We feasted on the buffet, and got the body ready for some work.

Connie was down to the beach before me, and got in an early session on a 1.2M Silla de playa, and no board!  She was waiting for the stronger afternoon wind.  I arrived to the wind starting to pick up!  Looks like the Weather Channel .com was right!  15-25MPH this afternoon!

I wasn’t quite ready to ride, and heard of some possible looping attempts by Garreth and Ace, so I waded out to try for some pics.  With so many great subjects, it’s very easy to fill the 128Meg memory card!  I got 358 pics in about 20 – 25 min!  What fun!  Of course, only about 10% are decent, and only half that is crystal clear, but here are the best.  In some cases the shot is quite blurry, but it was often the only shot I had of an individual, and I just had to post it.  So please forgive the lower quality, when you see it.

I hung up the camera, and hit the water with a 5.7m and the 267 JP, 99 lt Free Ride.  This was a dream combo!  I had hit the wind just right, and rode this setup for 2 hours or more!  More huge swells on the outside, and very humbling washboard in the bigger than usual chop on the inside.  But this made for some starboard jump ramps, that were too hard to resist!  Had to try a couple, and even got a little air!  Super fun session!

After the surf session, we had scheduled some massage for Connie and I, and after a quick shower, and hour on the table is sooooooo relaxing!!  I wish I could do that every day!  Fully refreshed, I joined Connie and friends on the beach.  Connie had been quick on the camera, and caught an excellent double rainbow, over the late afternoon kiters and windsurfers!  Very cool shots Connie!  Great job!

The American contingent of Vela clients (Ace, Connie, Rodger, Tim) got together for some evening chat, picture review, and pizza. We made it an early night, to make ready for the forecasted 15-25mph for Friday!
